Excess policy: an update02 August 2019
Our auctioneers attended various FPC meetings in the past months. The excess policy and its consequences were discussed, amongst other things. The excess policy is a topical issue once again. Here is a brief update on the actions in the recent period.
Every day, Royal FloraHolland auctioneers are confronted with supply deviations that could potentially lead to excesses.
During the consultation sessions of 2018, members indicated that not everyone is (fully) familiar with the excess policy. That is why all FPCs were visited last year, and the FPCs that had additional questions about the excess policy were visited again recently. Agreements were made with some FPCs to discuss the excess policy further in the coming period.

Pot Phalaenopsis Pilot
A new procedure for the excess policy for Pot Phalaenopsis has been drawn up. In brief, within this pilot the suppliers made an inventory of their supply at the end of 2018 and have the possibility to adjust this supply four times per year. The pilot is going well. An evaluation of the pilot will follow in the second half of 2019. Royal FloraHolland is investigating whether this procedure could be applied to other product groups.
If you have any questions, please contact your auctioneer. Our auctioneers work to match supply and demand every day and can give you advice in the case of any deviations in your supply.
